The Buffalo Zoo
On February 17, 2009 Mariah and family went on a beind-the-scenes tour of the Buffalo Zoo. Led by Dr. Donna Fernandes (President of the Buffalo Zoo), Mariah got up close and personal with these amazing apes!!

Everyone had to wear face masks to protect the gorillas from getting sick from human germs.
The female gorillas came right up the cages to greet Mariah. They were very friendly and Mariah loved watching them eat bananas!!
This female was pushing her "blankie" under the cage doors to share it with Mariah!
The Silverback kept charging back and forth to "show off" in front of his new guests. It was incredible to see his strength, but funny to see the females scattering to get out of his way!
