As adult Gorillas are being poached for bush meat, their babies are being left behind only with the hope of being rescued by local wildlife conservationists. There are now hundreds of orphaned gorillas across Africa.

A reason to celebrate! In August 2008, rescue workers found a new pack of 125,000 Western Lowland Gorillas in Congo. Unfortuanately, the Eastern Lowland Gorillas still face extinction.
