TAKE ACTION!!
Contact your SENATORS and CONGRESSMAN and ask him/her to pass S.891-- the Congo Conflict Minerals Act of 2009.  This bill was introduced by Sen. Sam Brownback, in April and is currently being reviewed by the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs.  Our NYS Senator, Charles Schumer sits on this committee!!  Write Senator Schumer urging the approval of this bill.   His Buffalo District Office address is 130 South Elmwood Avenue, #660, Buffalo, NY 14202.

Previous Congo legislation:
S.3058- Conflict Coltan and Cassiterite Act of 2008. This bill would PROHIBIT U.S. import and use of Coltan from the Democratic Republic of Congo in all electronics. It was introduced in May 2008 (sponsored by Sen. Sam Brownback) and needs to be reinstated!! The only way the gorillas can be safe is if the illegal mining STOPS!!
