Q: Does Eco-Cell accept any other electronics for recycling? A: Yes! (Although they do not advertise it yet!!) Eco-cell will accept any hand-held electronics for recycling and proceeds will still benefit DFGFI and the Buffalo Zoo!! They do not YET have the capacity for recycling larger electronics like laptops, computers, or video gaming consoles.Q: What specific hand-held electronics items are acceptable? Do you have a list? A: Yes! By "hand-held" we mean any electronics that can be carried on your person. This includes:Digital CamerasCamcordersGPS Navigation UnitsiPods and MP3 PlayersVideo Game CartridgesPortable Video Game Systems (like Nintendo DS, Game Boy, and PSP)PagersDigital WatchesDigital ClocksCell Phones (of course!!) Cell Phone Accessories (such as blue-tooth head sets, charging cords, charging docks)Any and all chargers or accessories that accompany the above-mentioned electronics!Q: Do the electronics that Eco-Cell recycles have to be working or can they take broken electronics too? A: No! Eco-cell will recycle most electronics that are new, used, reconditioned, broken or otherwise. While new or used electronics in working condition will create a higher donation per item, the BIG IDEA is to get all electronics PROPERLY RECYCLED so that the Coltan inside can be contained, and safely recycled and/or reused!! Most importantly, this prevents these electronics from ending up in landfills. Q: If I have cell phones or other electronics that I would like Mariah Saves Gorillas to recycle, what are my options for turning them in? A: Great Question!! If you live in the Buffalo-Niagara area of Western New York, you can find various drop-off locations by visiting the "Collection Locations" section of our website. You can drop your cell phones and other electronics into the official Eco-Cell collection boxes found at any of the businesses listed. Keep checking back for more updates and added locations.
